Responsibilities

• Drive impactful projects and lead technical decision-making
• Balance people management with hands-on technical leadership
• Develop high-performing teams and provide mentorship
• Work cross-functionally with design and product management to build robust, scalable, and user-centered systems
• Take full responsibility for major features from start to finish
• Architect and scale distributed software systems

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience working with cross-functional software development teams
• Experience shipping and iterating on production-grade software components
• Ability to write robust, well-tested, and well-designed code
• Solid understanding of architecting and scaling distributed software systems
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Located in Washington, D.C. and open to working in office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python, Django, Celery, Airflow, or Kafka
• Experience with React, Redux, or Mapbox
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, or AWS infrastructure
