Staff Software Engineer, Network Automation

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver automation frameworks, observability platforms, and self-healing workflows for a global network fleet
• Contribute to the technical roadmap for the automation stack, including source of truth and config generation
• Build and maintain declarative, model-driven configuration systems using Python, Nornir, Ansible, and Jinja2
• Implement gNMI, OpenConfig, and NETCONF/YANG strategies for telemetry and configuration management
• Develop event-driven auto-remediation systems to resolve failure modes without human escalation
• Improve the telemetry, metrics, alerting, and dashboarding stack using Prometheus and Grafana
• Partner with Network Architecture to ensure designs are automation-first and operable at scale

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on production network automation and infrastructure as code
• Production-quality software engineering skills in Python or Go
• Hands-on experience with model-driven automation (gNMI, OpenConfig, NETCONF, YANG)
• Experience owning a network source of truth platform like NetBox or Nautobot
• Strong knowledge of Arista (EOS) and/or Juniper (Junos) in leaf-spine DC fabric environments
• Solid understanding of BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, and LLDP at data center scale
• Experience building observability platforms using Prometheus, Grafana, and streaming telemetry

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NVIDIA/Mellanox platforms in production
• Familiarity operating at fleet scale across thousands of network devices
• Exposure to closed-loop, event-driven automation systems
• Experience in hyperscale or internet-scale infrastructure
