Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of large-scale, complex systems and components
• Take ownership of major technical initiatives and provide direction to teams
• Drive architectural improvements for scalability, performance, and maintainability
• Mentor and guide other engineers to foster technical excellence
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including product and design
• Participate in on-call coverage

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in backend engineering
• 3+ years of experience in payments or FinTech
• Deep expertise in backend technologies such as Java or Python
• Proficiency with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, MS SQL Server, or Oracle)
• Significant experience with web services, microservices, and distributed systems
• Proven track record of designing and scaling robust, high-performance systems
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Production experience with AWS, Kubernetes, or other cloud platforms
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker
• Experience developing cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform
• Experience building scalable software platforms
