Staff Software Engineer, Machine Learning - Personalization

Responsibilities

• Develop production machine learning solutions to build a world class personalized shopping experience
• Partner with engineering and product leaders to shape the product roadmap using ML
• Mentor junior team members and lead cross-functional pods to create collective impact
• Conceptualize, design, implement, and validate algorithmic improvements for growth and personalization

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry experience developing and shipping ML models to production
• M.S. or PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, CS, Math, Physics, etc.)
• Expertise in applied ML for Causal Inference and Recommendation Systems
• Proficiency in Python and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Proficiency in using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) in the SDLC
• Ability to communicate technical details to nontechnical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with explore/exploit/MAB algorithms
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs)
