Staff Software Engineer (Generalist)

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the development of core systems, including real-time job matching algorithms and autonomous worker vetting pipelines.
• Own architectural decisions for the tech platform and advise on product and infrastructure decisions to ensure long-term scalability.
• Orchestrate CI/CD workflows using Docker and GitHub to drive efficiency through automated testing.
• Build analytics and monitoring systems to track user experience and application health.
• Drive backend application performance measurement and optimization.
• Contribute to a high-velocity, scrappy founding team building the future of industrial staffing.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with TypeScript/Node.js or Python.
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL or equivalent relational databases.
• Expertise in designing robust APIs.
• Experience with Docker, GitHub Actions, and Datadog.
• Proven track record in early-stage engineering teams, demonstrating the ability to navigate ambiguity as a self-starter.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and scaling distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in data modeling and optimizing complex database queries.
• A passion for applying AI and ML to solve real-world operational challenges.
