Staff Software Engineer, Front End

Watershed is the enterprise sustainability platform. Companies like Airbnb, Carlyle Group, FedEx, Visa, and Dr. Martens use Watershed to manage climate and ESG data, produce audit-ready metrics for voluntary and regulatory reporting including CSRD, and drive real decarbonization.

Responsibilities

• Write performant, well-crafted, tested, and maintainable code across the technical stack
• Own frontend architecture and plan ahead to enable rapid development without compromising quality
• Collaborate with Design and Design Engineering teams to deliver beautiful, clear, and consistent experiences
• Lead the team on UI/UX topics and mentor others to build their skills
• Champion design principles such as "smart defaults but you decide" and "connected and familiar"

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering
• Specialism in building UI/UX for complex applications
• Frontend specialist expertise with the ability to work full-stack when needed
• Proven track record of raising frontend quality through mentoring and leadership
