Staff Software Engineer - Fraud

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, implementation, and long-term roadmap for core systems supporting multiple fraud prevention use cases.
• Own end-to-end delivery of large cross-functional projects, translating ambiguous problems into strategy and execution.
• Design, build, and operate highly available, low-latency backend systems for real-time scoring and decisioning.
• Partner with Data Science and ML teams to productionize models and build reliable ML data pipelines.
• Establish department-level best practices, review designs, and act as a trusted advisor on architectural tradeoffs.
• Mentor and grow engineers through technical direction, writing, and 1:1s.
• Navigate and influence multiple stakeholders to align teams and resolve cross-team issues.

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of software development experience with a strong backend focus.
• Proven experience as a technical lead making significant architectural decisions.
• A product-minded approach to building and shipping reliable, high-velocity products.
• Knowledge of, or a strong excitement to learn, Haskell.
• Ability to drive discussions in ambiguous environments with empathy and a focus on outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech, fraud systems, or the broader risk domain.
