Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build, scale, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs
• Own the relationship between the application layer and AWS infrastructure
• Evaluate and evolve backend and cloud architecture for massive growth
• Establish reliability practices including SLOs/SLIs, incident response, and capacity planning
• Lead optimization initiatives across application code, databases, and AWS services
• Create scalable primitives, libraries, and CI/CD tooling to enable product teams
• Mentor engineers on backend best practices and cloud architecture

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proven track record of shipping production-grade backend code and owning infrastructure
• Strong hands-on coding skills in Python, Go, or Node.js
• Deep AWS expertise (EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS, VPCs, IAM) using Terraform or similar IaC
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, relational databases, caching, and API design
• Experience leading large technical initiatives across teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Staff Software Engineer, Tech Lead, or senior platform engineer
• Depth in SRE, database scalability, or multi-tenant architectures
• Experience building internal platforms and developer tooling
• Affinity for manufacturing, industrial software, or hard-tech environments
