Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Partner with founders and GTM leaders to define the roadmap and deliver user value
• Lead design and development of full-stack product features for mobile and web applications
• Balance speed, scope, and maintainability to deliver immediate impact and long-term scalability
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance to the engineering team
• Collaborate with design talent to implement intuitive and reliable user experiences

Requirements

• Based in or willing to relocate to Chicago
• 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in startups or scaleups
• Proven track record of shipping impactful full-stack features
• Proficiency with agentic coding methodologies and AI-first development
• Strong technical judgment regarding optimization, scope, and refactoring
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building React Native mobile apps
• Experience building marketplaces, fintech, or consumer-facing products
