Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical owner for multiple pieces of critical architecture within your business area
• Own the end-to-end delivery of architected systems, ensuring they ship and operate at full scale in production
• Dive deep into system performance to invent new approaches that drive efficiency at massive scale
• Tackle complex architectural problems and lead delivery for high-impact projects, such as new data storage engines or critical service rebuilds
• Participate in the staff engineering community to improve company-wide software and systems engineering standards

Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent practical experience
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
• 4+ years of technical leadership experience (as a manager or technical lead)
• Proven track record of designing and delivering industry-leading systems with significant technical depth or organizational impact
• Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in daily workflows, including the ability to validate and refine AI-generated output

• Motivation to push the boundaries of how AI improves software engineering best practices
• Interest in contributing to the development of AI-enabled products
