Staff Software Engineer, Data Engineering

Responsibilities

• Own critical data systems that support multiple products and teams
• Develop, implement, and enforce best practices for data infrastructure and automation
• Design and implement large-scale, high-volume data models and pipelines for Data Lake and Data Warehouse
• Improve reliability and scalability of ingestion, data processing, ETLs, and reporting tools
• Manage a portfolio of data products to deliver high-quality, trustworthy data
• Onboard and support other engineers joining the team

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience as a hands-on engineer and technical leader
• 6+ years of experience in data platform or data engineering
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, or Scala
• 4+ years of experience in ETL orchestration and workflow management (e.g., Airflow)
• 4+ years of experience with distributed data ecosystems (Spark, Presto) and streaming technologies (Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming)
• Expertise in database fundamentals, SQL, data reliability, and distributed computing
• Proficiency in using AI coding tools like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor
• Excellent communication skills for working with technical and non-technical teams
