About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS services, Airflow, dbt Cloud, and Snowflake
- Implement and govern Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers)
- Build robust data ingestion frameworks leveraging AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, SNS/SQS, Kinesis, and Kafka
- Develop ELT pipelines using dbt Cloud for transformations, testing, documentation, and version control
- Orchestrate complex workflows and dependencies using Apache Airflow
- Partner with Product, Analytics, Risk, Compliance, and Business teams to deliver trusted data products
- Ensure data quality, lineage, and observability through rigorous testing, monitoring, and alerting
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for data workloads and enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards (PII, SOX, GDPR, PCI)
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering
- Deep expertise in the banking or financial services domain (transactions, payments, risk, fraud, or regulatory reporting)
- Proficiency in Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, streams & tasks)
- Strong experience with dbt Cloud (models, tests, macros, and CI)
- Expertise in Apache Airflow (DAG design, scheduling, and error handling)
- Extensive experience with AWS Data Services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, SQS/SNS, IAM)
- Advanced SQL and Python skills
- Hands-on experience with Medallion/Lakehouse Architecture
- Experience handling sensitive data (PII) and understanding data controls, auditability, and reconciliation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kafka or MSK
- Exposure to semantic layers such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
- Knowledge of data governance tools like Collibra, Alation, Unity Catalog, or OpenMetadata
- Relevant Cloud certifications (AWS or Snowflake)
