Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and evolution of large-scale telemetry pipelines, including high-volume ingestion, stream processing, and storage
• Design scalable, multi-tenant services addressing hot shards, high-cardinality data, and backpressure
• Improve pipeline reliability and data freshness while reducing on-call burden through system design
• Set technical direction, drive design reviews, and identify critical architectural decisions
• Collaborate with product, compute, networking, and platform teams
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design work, code reviews, and incident response

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience with ownership of production distributed systems
• Deep experience designing and operating distributed systems (sharding, replication, consistency, load balancing)
• Experience with large-scale data infrastructure like time-series databases, log aggregation, or streaming pipelines
• Strong proficiency in Go or another modern compiled language
• Comfort with Kubernetes, microservices, and CI/CD
• Experience with on-call for customer-facing services
• Proven ability to drive technical outcomes across team boundaries

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Loki, OpenTelemetry, Kafka, or Vector
