Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance embedded and real-time software components in C++
• Define and drive technical strategy and long-term vision for embedded architecture
• Act as a technical bridge between engineering and non-technical stakeholders
• Mentor and grow engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence
• Ensure software quality through code review and adherence to IEC 62304 standards
• Collaborate with electronics and FPGA teams on hardware-software interfaces and system integration
• Contribute to risk management, software hazard analysis, and design documentation

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on systems-level architecture
• Deep expertise in modern C++ (C++17 or later)
• Hands-on experience with embedded Linux and device driver development
• Experience in a regulated industry (medical devices, aerospace, or automotive)
• Strong understanding of hardware-software integration (SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, RTOS)
• Ability to write clean, well-tested code in safety-critical contexts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-speed data acquisition or real-time signal processing
• Familiarity with optical or biomedical hardware integration
• Exposure to data science or ML pipelines
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing in an embedded context
• Knowledge of IEC 60601-1-4 or other medical device standards
• Familiarity with cloud-based IoT systems and health-tech data residency
