Staff Software Engineer - Backend

Responsibilities

• Solve challenging problems related to providing interactive experiences on data warehouses for exploration and analysis
• Build backend distributed services, new algorithms, and modern APIs to support a cloud application
• Utilize modern tools and languages including Rust, Go, GraphQL, Node, and Kubernetes
• Design and implement new software features to support a fast-growing user base
• Triage, debug, and resolve product or system issues by analyzing root causes
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure technical best practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience building and maintaining high-quality software
• Experience building and deploying robust, secure web applications in a continuous deployment environment
• Strong Computer Science fundamentals
• A strong sense of craftsmanship and a desire to be a great teammate

Preferred Qualifications

• Data-driven aptitude and experience applying it to distributed system problems
• Experience with data model design and API development
• Proficiency in SQL query optimization and understanding database internals
• Experience administering cloud service infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Prior experience working at a high-growth company solving complex technical problems
