Staff Software Engineer, Backend

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve backend services for affiliate domains including event tracking, attribution, and commission settlement
• Design and maintain versioned REST/gRPC APIs and partner integration patterns
• Implement high-throughput event ingestion and durable workflows using datastores, caching, and messaging
• Ensure settlement-grade correctness for financially sensitive flows through idempotency and reconciliation
• Improve system performance via profiling, query optimization, and capacity testing
• Operate services in production using CI/CD, observability tools, and incident response practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• 6+ years of experience building production backend systems for consumer or commerce platforms
• Strong proficiency in Java 17+ and Spring Boot/Spring Cloud
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design, and concurrency
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and Terraform
• Proficiency with relational/NoSQL databases, Redis, and event streaming (Kafka/Kinesis/RabbitMQ)
• Knowledge of security concepts like OAuth2/OIDC and automated testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with affiliate/partner platforms and payout lifecycles
• Experience building anti-fraud or abuse detection systems
• Robotics industry background
• Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
• Professional working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English
