Staff Software Engineer Backend, Billing

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and implementation of the Airwallex engineering system
• Partner with business and product teams to conduct system analysis and architecture design for complex billing scenarios
• Design and develop scalable components based on the company’s microservice framework
• Introduce innovative technologies and solutions to the engineering team
• Drive the construction and management of the technical team while establishing high-quality internal coding standards

Requirements

• 8+ years of Core Java development experience
• 5+ years of experience in Internet applications, large financial systems, or e-commerce platforms
• 1+ year of experience in payment platform development
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proficiency in Java 8, including multi-threading, high concurrency, and IO/NIO
• Experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks
• Familiarity with Docker, microservices, and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of HTTP, TCP/IP protocols, and REST specifications
• Proficiency with build tools such as Gradle or Maven

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with international clearing, settlement, or foreign exchange transactions
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Scala, Python, Golang, or R
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or Redis
• Familiarity with container orchestration like Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Aliyun Cloud
• Fluency in English
