Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical leader for device state, notifications, partner integration, and mobile apps teams within the Real Time Operations division.
• Lead the design of major software components, systems, and features, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Review architecture designs from senior engineers to enforce high standards for mission-critical systems.
• Set a high technical bar by writing well-tested, maintainable code and leading technical design reviews.
• Mentor and coach senior engineers to grow the next generation of technical leaders.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to drive and deliver on the product roadmap.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record of designing and building complex, highly-available cloud systems.
• Experience with various data storage systems, including relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with stream processing and message brokers.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and growing other senior software engineers.
• Strong customer empathy and ability to collaborate on features that solve real-world user problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with web frontend technologies such as React, Redux, and TypeScript.
• Experience working with native mobile applications (iOS or Android).
• Experience with Maps or Cartography technologies.
