Staff Software Engineer (Android)

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the multi-year architectural roadmap for Android applications
• Lead high-impact technical projects such as modularization and UI overhauls with Jetpack Compose
• Ensure reliability and performance for offline-first capabilities and real-time data syncing
• Mentor Senior and Mid-level engineers and set standards for code quality and testing
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to align technical investments with business outcomes
• Improve developer productivity through better CI/CD and automated testing

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Significant experience building Android applications at scale
• Deep Kotlin expertise including coroutines and Flow
• Experience with MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture
• Proven track record of designing large, multi-module Android applications
• Experience with complex local data management and offline-first workflows
• Ability to lead technical initiatives through influence across multiple teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in POS, hospitality, retail, logistics, or payments industries
• Experience integrating with payment SDKs, Bluetooth/USB peripherals, or custom Android hardware
• Experience with mobile observability tools like Grafana, Sentry, or Firebase
• Experience improving CI/CD and release quality for mobile teams
