Staff Software Engineer, Android

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, iterate and manage the Android mobile application
• Spearhead every aspect of the Android development process from API creation to design
• Partner closely with design, product, and engineering teams to produce seamless user experiences
• Write high quality, maintainable, and unit-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
• Own high-visibility product features and envision new, magical product experiences
• Recommend and improve development practices, including CI/CD processes and architecture
• Lead feature development end-to-end in collaboration with Product Managers

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
• Proven experience developing and releasing Android apps to the Play Store
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and Android Studio
• Knowledge of Android design patterns such as MVVM and Repository
• Deep experience with Activity/Fragment management and lifecycle
• Experience with data persistence using SharedPreferences, SQLite, or Room
• Strong understanding of custom UI design and UX intuition
• Understanding of RESTful web services for connected applications
• Proficiency with Git and CI tools like Jenkins
• Experience writing unit tests using JUnit and Mockito
