Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design the systems that keep AI agents reliable and safe in production healthcare environments
• Own ambiguous, high-impact technical problems and carry them through to shipped systems
• Set the architectural patterns and engineering standards for the rest of the team
• Make platform-level decisions regarding build vs. buy and technical direction
• Solve complex reliability, performance, and data challenges
• Mentor senior engineers and elevate the technical bar of the organization

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and delivering complex systems end-to-end
• Deep expertise in at least one core area: full-stack, backend, infrastructure, or data
• Strong experience managing and maintaining production systems
• Ability to work in a hybrid capacity out of our San Francisco office
• High agency, low ego, and a commitment to high engineering standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in regulated or high-reliability domains such as healthcare, finance, or legal
• Experience building and scaling production AI or ML systems
• Background with high-scale data systems or distributed infrastructure
• Previous experience mentoring or technical leadership
