Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in the development of intra-op spine navigation applications
• Design and implement high quality applications and frameworks targeting Unix/Linux platforms using C++
• Perform integration and system level testing of software and hardware systems
• Mentor junior resources and take ownership of end-to-end module delivery
• Collaborate with R&D and Marketing teams to support clinical prototyping and formal evaluation
• Attend surgical cases and engage with surgeons to maintain familiarity with technical endeavors
• Develop documentation including design artifacts and test plans

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in development of surgical navigation or equivalent medical device products
• Proven success providing technical direction for medical devices in intra-operative clinical settings
• Experience delivering mission critical medical device systems (IEC 62304)
• Proficiency in C++ development in a Linux environment
• Fluency with 3D spatial geometry, coordinate transforms, and linear algebra
• Fluency with 3D volumetric imaging (CT, CBCT, MRI) and DICOM formats
• Experience with image processing toolkits such as VTK, ITK, or OpenCV
• Experience in an FDA regulated environment
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred
