Staff Software Development Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own and drive complex, escalated technical issues from initial intake through to final resolution
• Perform deep technical troubleshooting across software, cloud, and infrastructure layers
• Conduct advanced debugging, including memory dump and crash analysis, performance tracing, and kernel debugging
• Analyze logs, metrics, and telemetry across distributed systems to identify root causes
• Partner with R&D teams to log high-quality defects, provide reproduction data, and propose fixes
• Submit and review pull requests for fixes, observability improvements, and tooling
• Identify recurring issues and drive automation and process improvements to reduce toil
• Mentor SDS engineers and lead technical design and postmortem reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• 10+ years of experience in software development or a related technical role
• Deep technical troubleshooting expertise across software, cloud, and infrastructure
• Experience with memory dump and crash analysis (e.g., WinDbg)
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• Experience working with distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Linux and multi-platform OS environments (Windows, macOS)
• Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Experience with observability tooling like Elastic Stack or Kibana
• Knowledge of containerized environments including Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with databases such as MS SQL, MySQL, or Databricks
• Background in networking or cybersecurity
