About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead projects to create and develop novel nucleic acid based diagnostic tests
- Plan, execute, and optimize feasibility testing and protocol development
- Design and execute moderate to high complexity experiments
- Perform data analysis including statistics and coordinate with bioinformatics teams
- Document research progress under a Quality Management System
- Manage Research Associates and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Communicate research progress to colleagues and senior management
Requirements
- Ph.D. in molecular biology or a closely related field
- Minimum of 8 years of industry experience (or 2 years post-doc + 6 years industry)
- Experience with NGS and DNA/RNA molecular biology experiments
- Proficiency in designing, executing, and analyzing molecular biology data
- Strong research, innovation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing NIPT or liquid biopsy tests
- Expertise in PCR, multiplex PCR, qPCR, or digital droplet PCR
- Experience with multiomics, epigenetic/methylation, or cfDNA/RNA
- Background in women’s health molecular diagnostics
- Bioinformatic capabilities, programming (Perl, Python), or SQL experience
