Staff RN - Neuro Med/Surg ICU

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized nursing care to neuro med/surg ICU patients using the nursing process and established protocols.
• Assess patient history, physiological status, and psychosocial status to formulate individualized care plans.
• Administer vasoactive drugs, antiarrhythmics, and other cardiac or emergency medications safely.
• Monitor patients receiving thrombolytic agents and recognize potential complications.
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and provide appropriate clinical interventions.
• Demonstrate advanced neurological assessment skills and manage neurological devices such as EVD and ICP monitoring.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the continuum of care.
• Adhere to infection prevention guidelines, safety standards, and Joint Commission national patient safety goals.
• Participate in professional development, peer reviews, and activities aligned with the Magnet Model.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• 1 year of critical care experience in an acute care setting or completion of an accredited critical care course (AACN/California BRN).
• ACLS Certification.
• NIHSS Stroke Certification.
