Staff Risk AI & Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and upskill a high-performing pod of data engineers
• Champion AI-native engineering workflows, including AI-assisted development and automated documentation
• Design and implement scalable frameworks for dbt modeling, observability, and data validation
• Provide technical leadership across Snowflake architecture, dbt transformation, and Airflow orchestration
• Review technical strategies and pipeline architectures to ensure scalability and compliance
• Serve as the primary technical liaison for strategic vendors like Snowflake and credit bureau providers
• Partner with Product Managers to translate risk requirements into engineering roadmaps

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or enterprise-scale data infrastructure
• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or technical pods
• Deep expertise with Snowflake platform architecture and optimization
• Strong experience with dbt, transformation frameworks, and semantic layers
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with Apache Airflow and production-grade orchestration
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to improve engineering productivity
• Strong understanding of data governance, observability, and compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within financial services, fintech, or risk management
• Familiarity with RAG systems, intelligent agents, or LLM-powered tooling
• Experience implementing AI-assisted SDLC at scale
• Familiarity with CI/CD and cloud-native infrastructure
