Staff Research Engineer, Robot Intelligence

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate robotic hardware, sensors, and software for semi-structured and unstructured environments
• Integrate sensors, actuators, and components into prototype robotic systems
• Design, develop, and test algorithms for robot perception, control, learning, navigation, and manipulation
• Develop and deploy data collection and model management mechanisms for in-the-wild data aggregation
• Work within cross-functional teams to assist in design, analysis, and performance evaluation
• Document and present results evaluating algorithms and models on targeted compute platforms
• Conduct pilot studies and formal experiments to benchmark performance against state-of-the-art approaches

Requirements

• PhD or Master’s degree in EECS, Robotics, or equivalent
• 3+ years of industry experience in robotics R&D (foundation models, VLA models, 3D perception, etc.)
• Experience in sensing, kinematics, dynamics, and control systems on real robotic systems
• Solid understanding of computer vision (object detection, segmentation, tracking)
• Knowledge of ML model performance monitoring and data quality tools
• Proficiency with PyTorch, TensorFlow, C++, ROS, and CUDA
• Strong understanding of robotics fundamentals including SLAM, 3D mapping, and policy architectures
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
