Responsibilities

  • Take independent DfR ownership for existing subsystem reliability and lead DfR for future products, focusing on HV electronics and power conversion
  • Develop reliability test programs (DV, PV, ORT) by leading DFMEA and defining mission profiles
  • Build custom Python reliability analysis and modeling tools to automate workflows
  • Define reliability requirements and acceptance criteria at key program milestones
  • Develop physics-of-failure lifetime models and perform failure root cause analysis
  • Partner with the SIE team and suppliers to verify component quality and oversee outsourced testing
  • Collaborate across teams to embed DfR principles into early architecture and manufacturing decisions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or Materials Science
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware reliability engineering (power electronics, high-voltage, or consumer electronics)
  • Strong understanding of statistics, physics-of-failure, and accelerated life testing
  • Proficiency in Python for statistical analysis and modeling
  • Strong technical communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high voltage batteries, DC-DC converters, inverters, or BMS
  • Hands-on experience with electromechanical reliability tests (HALT, vibration, corrosion)
  • Experience with PCBA failure analysis tools such as SEM and X-ray
  • Experience using DOEs and field failure data for lifetime prediction models
