Responsibilities
- Define and own hardware reliability strategy, requirements, and budgets for autonomy upfit hardware.
- Lead Design FMEAs (DFMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) across mechanical and electrical subsystems.
- Develop reliability models, block diagrams, and predictions using Weibull and life-data analysis.
- Define and execute HALT/HASS, accelerated life testing (ALT), and environmental durability programs.
- Manage Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS) to drive root-cause investigations.
- Embed Design for Reliability (DfR) principles into design reviews and NPI stages.
- Partner with supply chain and vendors to qualify components and manage obsolescence risk.
- Build reliability data pipelines and dashboards from machine telemetry and field returns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Physics, or Mechatronics.
- 10+ years of hardware reliability engineering experience in vehicles, heavy machinery, robotics, automotive, or aerospace.
- Deep expertise in DFMEA, FTA, reliability modeling, and accelerated life testing.
- Proficiency with statistical tools such as ReliaSoft, Minitab, Python, or R.
- Experience with structured root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Whys) and FRACAS.
