About the role
Responsibilities
- Shape the technical vision and roadmap for the algorithmic trading stack, driving alignment on methodology and system design.
- Research, develop, and productize alpha-generating strategies for real-time European energy markets using ML and optimization.
- Enhance backtesting, simulation, and P&L attribution capabilities with rigorous overfitting controls and automated testing.
- Mentor data scientists through design and code reviews to foster technical excellence and engineering rigor.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of complex, ambiguous projects from initial research to production.
Requirements
- 7+ years of industry experience in quantitative research or applied data science, specifically developing live trading algorithms.
- Proven track record of P&L contribution from researched and shipped strategies.
- Deep understanding of trading mechanics, including price formation, market microstructure, execution, and risk.
- Strong expertise in time series modelling, non-stationarity, and disciplined backtesting practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and software engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, modular design).
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
- C1 level English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience trading battery storage or flexibility assets in European power markets.
- Experience combining machine learning with mathematical optimization (LP, MILP, stochastic) in production systems.
- Experience with financial derivatives, market making, or HFT systems.
