About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct mental health services to students, including diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based individual and group interventions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the advanced doctoral practicum program in alignment with APA standards.
  • Supervise advanced doctoral practicum trainees, including coordinating weekly consultation and didactic seminars.
  • Perform crisis intervention and assess levels of risk for the student population.
  • Provide outreach and supportive programming to the university and greater Evansville community to promote mental health awareness.
  • Document all clinical contacts and services in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Collaborate with the CAPS leadership team to manage trainee recruitment, selection, and evaluation.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-approved doctoral program.
  • Completion of an APA-approved pre-doctoral internship.
  • Independent licensure as a psychologist in Indiana (with HSPP designation) or eligibility to obtain Indiana licensure.
  • Experience in time-limited individual therapy, crisis intervention, and group therapy.
  • Strong knowledge of legal, ethical, and professional standards in psychology and tele-behavior health.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience coordinating or directing a training program within a university counseling center.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to graduate-level clinical supervisees.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role.
  • Specialized skills in substance abuse or working with underserved and under-resourced student populations.
  • Experience with Titanium Schedule.
