Staff Production Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own high-risk technical domains including sharding core data stores and resource utilization
• Write production software to instrument, refactor, and rebuild components for scale
• Collaborate with product teams to improve reliability, efficiency, and resilience
• Contribute shared capabilities back to the platform layer
• Mentor fellow production engineers and guide teams toward high-velocity shipping

Requirements

• Experience owning reliability work within large-scale distributed systems
• Proficiency in Java, Go, Rust, C++, or comparable systems languages
• Deep understanding of networking stacks and Linux internals
• Practical knowledge of distributed systems patterns like consensus and circuit breakers
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration at scale
• Proficiency with AWS and cloud infrastructure under load
• Experience with observability tooling and performance analysis
• Proven ability to debug large, unfamiliar codebases

Preferred Qualifications

• Enterprise SaaS background
• Deep JVM internals knowledge including GC tuning
• Experience with multi-region architecture or data store migrations
• Experience with eBPF or kernel instrumentation
