Staff Production Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own long-term accountability for high-risk technical domains such as sharding core data stores and resource utilization
• Write production software to instrument, refactor, and rebuild components to improve reliability and efficiency
• Collaborate with product teams to shape roadmaps and improve system resilience
• Contribute shared capabilities back to the platform to scale beyond specific engagements
• Mentor fellow production engineers and guide teams toward shipping with higher velocity and less toil

Requirements

• Experience owning reliability work within large-scale distributed systems
• Proven ability to work as an embedded engineer within product or feature teams
• Deep proficiency in Java, Go, Rust, C++, or comparable systems languages
• Practical experience with distributed systems patterns including sharding, replication, and consensus
• Strong debugging skills for large, unfamiliar codebases
• Deep understanding of the networking stack and Linux internals
• Experience with observability tooling, SLOs, and incident management
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and AWS at scale
• Experience with performance analysis and profiling JVM or system-level processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Enterprise SaaS background
• Deep knowledge of JVM internals, including GC tuning and thread profiling
• Experience with multi-region architecture or large-scale data store migrations
• Experience with eBPF or kernel instrumentation
