Staff Product Development Engineer, R&D LG HVAC

Responsibilities

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) development for LG HVAC products
• Work cross-functionally with sales, manufacturing, and program managers to ensure timely product launches
• Evaluate go-to-market strategies and review technical documentation for the North American market
• Apply sound engineering principles to product design and benchmark against competitors
• Provide engineering insights and improvement solutions for new product development
• Screen and analyze new product performance and provide technical recommendations
• Statistically evaluate and interpret collected product and field-based testing data
• Review design shortcomings and faults to pinpoint weaknesses and improvement points
• Utilize acquisition hardware/software to create models for laboratory testing
• Prepare service, installation, and engineering manuals for US commercialization

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of experience in HVAC, water heating, or unitary products
• Working knowledge of vapor compression and heat transfer principles
• Experience with 3D CAD software and interpreting drawings using GD&T
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
• Strong oral and written communication and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with VRF, Acoil, AHU, FCU, or Chiller systems
• Experience in the design and development of evaporators, condensing units, or heat exchangers
• Exposure to various manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability
• Experience with agency certifications such as CSA, UL, or DOE
