Staff Product Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, validation, and certification of gas furnace products for the North American market.
• Support full New Product Introduction (NPI) cycles, including design release, pilot builds, and manufacturing handoff.
• Define and manage product requirements for performance, safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct testing and validation of data acquisition, review results, and drive necessary design updates.
• Manage certification efforts with agencies such as CSA, UL, and Intertek/ETL to ensure compliance with gas appliance standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and HQ teams in Korea.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians involved in gas heating system development.
• Prepare technical documentation, agency submissions, and internal design files.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 8+ years of product development experience specifically with gas heating or combustion appliances.
• Familiarity with certification agencies (CSA, UL, Intertek/ETL) and gas appliance compliance processes.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software and interpreting drawings using GD&T.
• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting to upper management.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ANSI gas appliance standards, specifically ANSI Z21.47.
