About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and sustain dry etch and plasma processes for wafer-based manufacturing
  • Design experiments and analyze process data to improve manufacturing performance
  • Drive process control, yield improvement, and defect reduction using DOE and SPC
  • Troubleshoot complex process and equipment issues in partnership with manufacturing teams
  • Support the transfer of R&D processes into high-volume manufacturing
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as PFMEA, OCAP, and Kaizen
  • Mentor engineers and technicians to scale robust manufacturing processes

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in nanofabrication or semiconductor manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience with dry etch/plasma processing equipment and vacuum systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Science Engineering
  • Experience with wafer processing in cleanroom environments
  • Strong understanding of plasma physics and etching mechanisms
  • Proficiency with SPC, DOE, and root cause methodologies like Six Sigma
  • Ability to travel 30-50%

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in a related engineering discipline
  • Experience with JMP or other statistical analysis tools
  • Metrology experience using SEM or TEM
  • Familiarity with FDC and process automation systems
  • Experience in wafer-level optics or photonics manufacturing
