Staff Privacy Engineer

About the Company

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is a joint venture between two industry leaders focused on automotive's next chapter. They are developing operating systems, zonal controllers, and cloud connectivity solutions to set the standards for software-defined electric vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Build, support, and maintain in-house privacy critical services
• Help set privacy standards and demonstrate implementation of privacy best practices
• Drive specification and implementation of new and ongoing privacy services
• Mitigate vulnerabilities found or reported by internal and external parties
• Implement privacy and personal data protections to comply with regulations and industry standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar field
• 6 years of experience with modern programming languages like Go or Python
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems
• Understanding of modern cryptography, cloud native development, and security best practices
• In-depth knowledge of privacy enhancing technologies, data classification, or privacy by design principles
• Experience working cross-functionally with heterogeneous engineering teams
• Ability to drive projects with ambiguous requirements from planning through completion
