About the role
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing embedded controls for PFC, Chargers, DC/DC, and inverters
- Performing board bring-up and device driver development for CAN, I2C, SPI, etc.
- Participating in specification development, design reviews, and unit testing
- Proving design concepts through computer simulation and physical laboratory testing
- Developing automated test cases for Hardware-In-Loop (HIL) modeling and testing
- Writing lean code for real-time interrupt-driven applications
- Debugging hardware issues and understanding schematics
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulatory requirements for power converters
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing Power Electronics products
- 5+ years of programming experience in C/C++, Assembly for 32-bit controllers/DSPs, and Python
- Experience implementing control code for power converters without code generation tools
- Strong understanding of power electronics principles (inverters, rectifiers, DC-DC converters like LLC, CLLC, DAB)
- Experience with grid-tie inverter systems (Solar, BESS, EVSE)
- Proficiency with microcontrollers and peripherals (PWM, ADC, UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet)
- Expertise in secure bootloader development and memory management
- Experience with HIL testing, real-time simulation, and plant modeling
- Proficiency in debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers
- Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- Knowledge of control system design/modeling using Plecs, MATLAB, or Simulink
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in FPGA programming and simulation techniques
