Staff Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across platform squads, including architecture decisions and engineering standards
• Lead cross-squad initiatives to improve CI foundations, delivery workflows, and self-service entry points
• Drive operability improvements through SLO thinking, alerting standards, and incident readiness
• Solve high-impact reliability and performance problems through root cause analysis and automation
• Build and operate critical platform services and tooling for production traffic
• Act as a multiplier through mentorship and coaching senior engineers
• Use data to guide priorities and measure delivery health and reliability signals

Requirements

• Strong track record as a senior technical leader (Staff or Principal level)
• Extensive experience designing and troubleshooting high-traffic distributed systems
• Deep experience with DevOps and cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
• Proficiency with CI/CD systems, build/test reliability, and developer workflows
• Strong foundations in reliability engineering, observability, and incident response
• Ability to articulate complex technical tradeoffs and drive alignment via RFCs
• Comfort writing production-quality tooling using AI-assisted coding

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python/Django environments
• Experience in high-growth, scalable tech environments
