Staff Pharmacist

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day pharmacy technician workflows, staffing, and task delegation
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development for the pharmacy technician team
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, and communicating staffing needs to leadership
• Monitor daily backlog and workflow metrics to adjust team assignments based on operational needs
• Provide expert consultations to customers regarding medication use, interactions, and dosing
• Communicate with veterinarians to clarify or modify prescriptions and provide therapeutic guidance
• Enter, review, dispense, and package medication orders with exceptional accuracy
• Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
• Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program to prevent prescription errors
• Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining proper storage

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree
• Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in good standing with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy
• Minimum of 4+ years of pharmacy experience
• Ability to commute to the Boston, MA headquarters Monday through Friday
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List and free of pending felony charges involving controlled substances
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to clinical safety
