Staff Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide goal-directed nursing care adapted to the needs of individuals, families, and communities.
• Utilize assessment skills to determine patient needs for populations ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
• Implement nursing actions based on scheduled surgeries, patient assessments, and developmental needs.
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments according to physician orders while ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic healthcare and communicate changes to team members.
• Document all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge in accordance with hospital policies.
• Incorporate discharge planning measures to ensure smooth transitions from hospital to home.
• Participate in unit activities, quality improvement data analysis, and professional development programs.

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Active BLS Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of Medical-ICU experience.
• ACLS certification.
