Staff Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered, goal-directed nursing care within the CCD6 Pre-Op Recovery department
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments according to physician orders while ensuring patient safety
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• Document all aspects of patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
• Incorporate discharge planning into daily practice to ensure smooth transitions of care
• Communicate patient status changes to appropriate team members and participate in unit staff meetings
• Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice activities

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of Medical Surgical ICU experience
• ACLS Certification
• Ability to obtain ACLS and PALS certification within six months of hire
