Staff Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide goal-directed nursing care adapted to the needs of individuals, families, and communities.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments according to physician orders while ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic healthcare and communicate changes to team members.
• Document all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge in accordance with hospital policies.
• Incorporate discharge planning into daily practice to ensure smooth transitions for patients.
• Participate in unit meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development activities.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by the Clinical Director or designee.

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Active BLS Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of Medical-ICU experience.
• ACLS certification.
