Staff Nurse (RN)

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based patient-centered care in a Level 1 Pediatric Academic Trauma Center
• Utilize assessment skills to determine patient needs and develop comprehensive plans of care
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments according to physician orders while ensuring patient safety
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care from admission to discharge
• Document all patient care activities accurately in accordance with hospital policies
• Incorporate discharge planning into clinical pathways to ensure smooth transitions for patients
• Promote appropriate care protocols relating to the physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of pediatric and adolescent patients

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher
• Current Illinois RN license
• Active BLS Certification
• Enrollment in SANE-AA or SANE-P Certification within 6 months of employment (18 months for new grad RNs)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
• BSN degree or higher
