Staff Nurse (RN)

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized, patient-centered care as a registered professional nurse within the Pediatric Critical Care Float Team
• Manage patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating outcomes-directed care
• Float between various pediatric critical care units, including PICU, NICU, General Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Heme/Onc, and Pediatric Surgical units
• Assume primary responsibility and accountability for all patient care provided personally or under direct supervision

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher
• Current Illinois RN license
• Active BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Note: Associate Degree Nurses must enroll in a BSN program within 6–9 months of hire and complete it within 30 months

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of Critical Care Pediatric Nursing experience
• ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certifications
• RN experience in a Level 1 Trauma Hospital
• Previous experience as a Float RN
• Specific experience in NICU or PICU settings
