Staff Nurse (RN) Float Team, Emergency Department

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based patient-centered care in a Level 1 Pediatric Academic Trauma Center and Adult Emergency Department
• Utilize assessment skills to determine patient needs and develop comprehensive plans of care
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments according to physician orders while ensuring patient safety
• Document all patient care from admission to discharge in accordance with hospital policies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care and facilitate smooth transitions from hospital to home
• Promote appropriate patient care protocols for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Utilize time, supplies, and personnel effectively to provide cost-effective care

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher
• Current Illinois RN license
• Active BLS Certification
• Enrollment in SANE-AA or SANE-P Certification within 6 months of employment (18 months for new grad RNs)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
• BSN degree or higher
