Staff Nurse (RN), Adult Emergency Department

Responsibilities

• Manage patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Develop and adjust care plans in collaboration with Case Managers and multidisciplinary teams
• Perform patient care competently according to hospital policy and clinical specialty standards
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments according to physician orders while ensuring patient safety
• Document all patient care from admission to discharge accurately in patient care records
• Coordinate with patients and families to provide consistent communication regarding care plans
• Utilize appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs in a fast-paced emergency environment
• Promote cost-effective care through the appropriate utilization of time, supplies, and personnel

Requirements

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher
• Current Illinois RN license
• Active BLS Certification
• Enrollment in SANE-AA or SANE-P Certification within 6 months of employment (18 months for new grad RNs)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in an Emergency Department (ED) setting
