Staff Nurse II

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care using the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model
• Develop, implement, and update patient plans of care based on ongoing assessments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote effective patient outcomes
• Assume the role of Charge Nurse when assigned, utilizing appropriate resources and tools
• Lead unit-based quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback/education to staff
• Serve as a clinical role model, preceptor, and educational resource for nursing staff and students
• Advocate for patients, families, and the nursing profession
• Delegate appropriate tasks to support personnel per the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act

Requirements

• BSN degree from an accredited nursing program
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience comparable to Staff Nurse I
• Minimum of 1 year of recent bedside RN experience
• Recent Charge Nurse experience
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Current ACLS certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
• National certification through an ANCC approved certifier (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and intermediate computer skills
