About the Company

Apex manufactures satellite buses at scale using a combination of software, vertical integration, and hardware designed for manufacturing. Their spacecraft enable the future of society, ranging from earth observation to communications.

Responsibilities

  • Drive manufacturing strategy and NPI execution for Comet from early development through production ramp
  • Partner with product design teams to provide DFM/DFA feedback
  • Develop scalable production methodologies for medium-to-high rate spacecraft manufacturing
  • Lead planning and development of new production facilities, including factory layout and line design
  • Define manufacturing process flows, assembly strategies, and tooling concepts
  • Collaborate with automation engineering teams to implement automation opportunities
  • Support sourcing, commissioning, and validation of production equipment and tooling
  • Drive root cause investigations and process improvements during integration and build activities
  • Establish manufacturing documentation, process controls, and configuration management practices

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience in manufacturing engineering or NPI
  • Experience scaling complex hardware products from prototype to production
  • Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles and production system architecture
  • Experience with factory development, facility layout, and equipment integration
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing process validation and hardware bring-up
  • Experience in aerospace, satellites, robotics, or automotive industries
  • Proficiency in configuration control and engineering change management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automation systems and advanced manufacturing processes
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous development environments
