Responsibilities
- Develop and validate physics-based dynamic models for mechanical, fluids, and thermal systems
- Develop control algorithms that optimize system performance and cost
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams to translate requirements into controls SW requirements
- Lead model validation campaigns by collaborating with test engineers to define instrumentation and collect data
- Drive product architecture trade studies to ensure optimal system design
- Travel to support controls bring-up and testing on prototype testbeds
Requirements
- PhD in Engineering with 3+ years of experience or M.S. with 5+ years of experience
- Demonstrated experience in classical control theory (feedback controllers, state observers, filters, state machine design)
- Experience developing control algorithms for embedded systems
- Track record of developing and validating multi-physics reduced-order models
- Experience working with complex electromechanical systems
- Proficiency with Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, and Git
