Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate physics-based dynamic models for mechanical, fluids, and thermal systems
  • Develop control algorithms that optimize system performance and cost
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams to translate requirements into controls SW requirements
  • Lead model validation campaigns by collaborating with test engineers to define instrumentation and collect data
  • Drive product architecture trade studies to ensure optimal system design
  • Travel to support controls bring-up and testing on prototype testbeds

Requirements

  • PhD in Engineering with 3+ years of experience or M.S. with 5+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience in classical control theory (feedback controllers, state observers, filters, state machine design)
  • Experience developing control algorithms for embedded systems
  • Track record of developing and validating multi-physics reduced-order models
  • Experience working with complex electromechanical systems
  • Proficiency with Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, and Git
